Before the road test
- Six months on the supervised permitThe six months run from the day the driver training instructor gave the permit to the parent, until the learner turns 17.
- Minimum age15 years old
- Six-month clean recordA conviction or permit violation under 17 cancels the permit and starts a new six months.
- Driver training30 classroom hours, 6 hours observing, and 6 hours behind the wheel, from a school or the parent-led program.
- Signed hours statementA parent or legal guardian signs the GDL Requirements Verification at the county driver’s license office.
