Has your child passed an ODOT-approved traffic safety education course?
- YesThe goal drops to 50 hours. A course passed in the past two years can also waive the drive test.
- Not yetThe goal stays at 100 hours.
Before the road test
- Six months on the permitThe permit is held six months. Time on an equivalent out-of-state permit counts.
- Minimum age16 years old
- Certify the hours at DMVThe hours are certified in the electronic licence application at the DMV office.
- Parent signatureA parent or legal guardian signs at DMV, or on form 735-173DP, and confirms school enrolment.
