Before the road test
- Six months on the permitThe permit is held six months before the driving test.
- Minimum age16 years old
- Classes and instructor time24 classroom hours and 8 hours with an instructor. These are separate from the 50.
- Notarised affidavitForm BMV 5791 must be signed in front of a notary. Do not sign it beforehand.
When they can drive
- Midnight to 6 a.m.Only a parent, guardian, or custodian may ride along in those hours.
